Your First Visit to Queen City Oral Surgery
Welcome to Queen City Oral Surgery. We appreciate you choosing our team for your oral surgery care in Cincinnati, OH. This page combines everything you need to know before your first appointment — from an introduction to our practice and surgical staff to step-by-step preparation details so you can arrive feeling confident and informed.
Introduction to Our Practice
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires four to six additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. V. Russell Boudreau Jr., Dr. Scott L. Thatcher, and Dr. Jaspreet Singh manage a wide variety of conditions relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions.
Our surgeons practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom teeth removal to extraction of failing teeth and bone grafting procedures. This includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
Our Surgical Staff
The surgical staff at Queen City Oral Surgery are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. We also have trained registered nurses (RN) to assist in surgery, all of whom are Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified. Our administrative personnel are well-versed in health and insurance policies and are here to answer any questions about scheduling, billing, or referrals.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your initial appointment may consist of a consultation to explain your diagnosis and treatment options. In many cases, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation first, with treatment scheduled for a separate appointment.
What to Bring
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your surgical referral slips and any X-rays, if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- Your photo ID and current insurance card.
- If you have dental insurance, please bring your updated insurance information to save time and allow us to help process any claims.
Important Reminders
- Minors: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
- Fasting: Please have nothing to eat or drink for eight hours prior to your surgery.
- Transportation: You will need a responsible adult to drive you home following surgery.

X-Rays and Imaging
If your dentist has taken X-rays, please request that they forward them to our office before your appointment. If there is not enough time, you are welcome to pick them up and bring them with you.
